Standing in the Gap

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. Roman 8:26

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone. 1 Timothy 2:1

As Christ was the intercession for our transgression. (Isaiah 53:12) As we are the intercessor for the people that do and don’t know God. To bring there troubles to the throne room of Heaven.

Daniel the prophet was the intercessor for king Nebuchadnezzar. Daniel stood in the gap between God’s judgement for Nebuchadnezzar. Daniel wanted mercy for his king, saying “I wish this word was for your enemies.” Even tho the king was evil, taking Daniel from his land and after his parents being killed. To have strength to still have mercy for him. Nebuchadnezzar didn’t turned from his way and all the things Daniel said come to past. In the end Nebuchadnezzar did repent and glorified the God of Daniel.

How many times have we been in the gap for people that you know that desire judgement for their sins, but to ask God for mercy for their transgression. (Matthew 5:11 NKJV)

I have one friend that God has me interceding for. Even giving them a prophetic word but still will not receive it. I try not to get upset when this happen. I had another friend said to me, “they are not rejecting you but the Christ in you.” I’m still standing in the gap for this person, even tho this person has hurt me. I pray as Daniel did, that they can come to a full repentance so they can glorify God with there whole life. All authority was giving to Christ and then He gave it to us.
